      An excellent upgrade from my first gen pair. The noise cancelling is serviceable. They obviously are not anywhere near as good as over the ear or even the pros. However they do a good job and the conversation aware feature is good. The Spatial Audio is good if not a little gimmicky. They connect instantly and switch devices (within the Apple ecosystem). Battery is good and as they charge fast it’s fine for a day out or a long walk. They fit into my ear great keeping the same basic design as the pros, just with a changeable tips.

      Maybe I haven't tried enough earbuds.

      I have tried several cheaper ANC earbuds, I have tried Airpod Pro. I own Airpod Max + Sony XM5.

      My problem with the silicone earbuds, is that my ears don't fit them very well (no I obviously haven't tried them all) and if I lay down (ie, bench at the gym) they just fall out.
      These are just like the original Airpods, in that they sit quite nicely in my ear but with the ANC that borderline rivals the Airpod Max.

      I have been using these as I walk around the house - listening to podcasts that I'd normally have just playing on a small speaker, it means I don't have to carry the speaker around and the sound quality is unmatched (for a portable speaker).

      It really mutes the noise of doors closing, toilets flushing and kettle boiling. Very very very impressive stuff, and all for £180. Maybe that's a lot for this type of product, and I haven't tried them on a plane yet, but I think these usurp the Max for me in terms of daily usage.

      I’ve been using the AirPods (4th Gen) for a while now, and while they’re good, they don’t quite live up to the hype or my expectations. They offer some solid features, but there are definite areas for improvement, especially when compared to the AirPods Pro.

      Let’s start with the positives. The sound quality is decent. It’s not going to blow you away, but it does the job for casual listening. The mids and highs are clear, and the audio is balanced enough for genres like pop, classical, or podcasts. However, if you’re someone who loves deep bass or wants a more immersive listening experience, you might find these a bit lacking. The bass is present but far from punchy or rich.

      The semi-decent noise cancellation is another area where I felt a bit underwhelmed. It’s there, but it’s not nearly as effective as what you’d get with the AirPods Pro. It blocks out some background noise in quieter environments, but in noisy places like cafes or public transport, it struggles to keep up. If noise isolation is a priority for you, this might not be the best choice.

      Comfort is another point worth mentioning. For me, these aren’t as comfortable as I’d hoped. The fit is okay for short periods, but wearing them for extended sessions can become uncomfortable, especially if you’re moving around a lot. They also feel a bit loose in the ears, so I found myself adjusting them more than I’d like. If you have smaller or oddly shaped ears, the fit might be hit or miss.

      Now, let’s talk about value. If you’re on a budget and can’t stretch to the AirPods Pro, these could be a reasonable compromise. They still integrate seamlessly with the Apple ecosystem, pairing effortlessly with devices and switching smoothly between them. However, if you can afford the AirPods Pro, I’d say they’re absolutely worth the extra money. The Pro version offers significantly better noise cancellation, a more secure and comfortable fit (thanks to the customizable ear tips), and richer, more dynamic sound quality.

      In summary, the AirPods (4th Gen) are a decent pair of wireless earbuds, but they’re far from perfect. They’re good for everyday use and casual listeners, but for those looking for top-notch performance, comfort, and noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro are the way to go.       So I bought these AirPods to replace my AirPods Pro 2. I know it’s weird that I’m downgrading but the reason is that my ears itch AirPods pro due to its silicone tips. These are amazing it’s definitely more comfortable. The H2 chips makes it great it connects to my phone soon as I open them. I love the fact I can charge it using my Apple Watch charger. 10/10!

      I love apple and have multiple products from them. But these are the worst I’ve ever seen or used. The build quality is so cheap and poor. The headphone quality is dreadful and honestly sounds as good as £5 pair off amazon. The bass is non existent and the volume control is terrible you can’t hear much on 60% volume where as that’s a standard listening volume for most headphones. Returned after using them for 1 song. Could tell instantly they were really bad. Amazon sorted the return really quickly and easily. Don’t buy! 1/10.
